Shipping Protection Pricing

Shipping Protection Pricing

ShipGuard allows you to set your shipping protection price in three different ways:

  1. Percentage Pricing (with min & max values)
  2. Single Fixed Plan
  3. Plan by Cart Value

1. Percentage Pricing

With this option, the protection fee is calculated as a percentage of the cart subtotal.

How It Works

  1. Set a percentage (e.g., 5%).
  2. Define a minimum fee (e.g., $0.75) and a maximum fee (e.g., $74.99).

  1. ShipGuard automatically generates 100 SKUs between your min and max values.
  • Step size = (74.99 – 0.75) ÷ 99 ≈ $0.75 increments
  1. The raw fee is calculated as:  Cart Subtotal × Percentage
  2. The raw fee is then matched to the next highest SKU step.
  • If below min, the min fee ($0.75) is charged.
  • If above max, the max fee ($74.99) is charged.

Example

  • Percentage = 5%
  • Min Fee = $0.75
  • Max Fee = $74.99

⚠️ Note: Merchants may notice small differences (e.g., 5% = $0.87 but charged $0.90). This happens because ShipGuard uses SKU steps between your min and max and always rounds upward.

2. Single Fixed Plan

With this method, you charge one flat fee for every order, no matter the cart value.

How It Works

  • You set one universal price in settings.
  • That price is added whenever a customer selects shipping protection.

Example

  • Fixed Fee = $2.99

✅ Best for simplicity and predictability — every customer sees the same fee regardless of their order size.

3. Plan by Cart Value

This method lets you create tiered rules where the protection fee changes depending on the cart total.

How It Works

  • You set fee tiers based on order ranges.
  • The app checks the cart subtotal and applies the matching fee.

Example Rules

  • $0 – $20 → $1.00
  • $21 – $50 → $2.50
  • $51 – $100 → $5.00
  • $101+ → $7.50

✅ Best for merchants who want flexibility and control across different order sizes.
