The ShipGuard widget can appear in both your cart page and mini cart (cart drawer). This lets customers add shipping protection before checkout, helping you increase coverage and reduce claims.
The widget requires Shopifyβs app embed to be active.
Step 1: Open the ShipGuard app β Widget Setup β Cart Page

Step 4: Once your pricing and settings are ready, you need to publish the shipping protection widget, Simply click the toggle switch to turn the widget ON.
Add a product to your cart.
Open your mini cart (drawer) β confirm the widget displays.
Go to the full cart page β confirm the widget displays.
Proceed to checkout β ensure ShipGuard protection is carried into the order.
Different Shopify themes handle carts differently.
If the widget does not show in your mini cart but works in your cart page, this means your drawer app isnβt passing line items correctly.
ShipGuard automatically creates a Shipping Protection product in Shopify.
When a customer selects protection, it is added to their cart like a digital product.
At checkout, the protection item is included with their order.
