How to Prevent Customers from Buying Shipping Protection Alone | Shipguard Checkout Rule Setup

Prevent Customers from Purchasing Shipping Protection Alone

In rare cases, a customer may be able to purchase shipping protection by itself. This can happen when a customer adds both a product and shipping protection to their cart, proceeds to checkout, and the product unexpectedly goes out of stock—leaving only the shipping protection available for purchase.

To prevent this situation, you can use the Checkout Rule feature in Shipguard. This feature ensures that shipping protection cannot be purchased independently.

How to Enable Checkout Rule for Shipping Protection

  1. Access Shopify Admin:
Log in to your Shopify admin panel.

  2. Open Checkout Settings:
    Click Settings, then select Checkout.

  3. Locate Checkout Rule:
Scroll to the bottom of the page. You’ll find a section labeled Checkout rules.

  4. Add a New Rule:
Click Add rule, then select Shipguard Checkout Validation.

  5. Save the Rule:
After selecting the validation, click Save.

  6. Activate the Validation:
Finally, turn on the checkout validation by clicking the Turn On button.

Once enabled, ShipGuard will automatically prevent shipping protection from being purchased alone.
You’re all set! 🎉
